This collection includes correspondence, a certificate of honor and other documents relating to Alfred Lindsay Hopson's career with the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railway, as a special agent, fireman, and locomotive engineer. Photographs from his teens and as a locomotive engineer are included. Arranged by type of material.

Alfred Lindsay Hopson worked for the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railway beginning in 1921 as a special agent in Winslow, Arizona. Mr. Hopson was the Financial Secretary of Lodge No. 173 of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Firemen & Enginemen in Winslow, Arizona. After he and his family moved to California, he became a fireman in the Santa Fe's Valley Division in 1931 and was promoted to locomotive engineer in 1937. He ran freight trains between Stockton and Fresno and Fresno and Bakersfield until his retirement in 1955 after thirty four years and seven months of service.
