The collection consists of documents related to the career of television writer Don Hinkley. Inlcuded are a small number of agreements, script materials, and income information. Absent from the collection are materials from The Muppet Show.

Biographical / historical:

There is very little biographical information available about television writer, Don Hinkley. Hinkley was born Richmond, California, ca. 1922. He started his television career writing for Steve Allen variety ns2:shows in New York. He moved on to write one season of The Bob Newhart Show, the 1961 variety series, followed by four years with the The Andy Williams Show. He wrote for the The Carol Burnett Show and The Flip Wilson Show. Hinkley joined The Muppet Show at the beginning of its second season and stayed through the fifth season. He died ca. February 1981.1922-1981 Hinkley was a television writer and producer.
