- Acquisition information:
- The initial collection was assembled from library acquisitions, 1928-1978. Articles and correspondence by Gordon were donated by Mr. Dudley Gordon and Mrs. Lorraine Gordon, in 1978. Additional materials were donated to the Autry Museum of the American West as part of a larger donation from the Historical Society of Southern California (HSSC) in 2018. Within the HSSC donation were "Dudley Gordon Collection" materials that were donated to the HSSC in 1982. These "Dudley Gordon Collection" materials were separated from the HSSC donation and added to MS.1231 in 2024. The last seven folders (MS.1231.17-MS.1231.23) were part of a previously unprocessed deposit that were added to the collection in 2025.
