Samuel McCullough (1826-approximately 1890) was a California businessman and state assemblyman. He came from New Jersey in 1855 to Sacramento, California, where he practiced his trade as a carpenter. In 1858 he joined the gold rush to the Fraser River in Canada but was unsuccessful in finding any gold. McCullough returned to San Francisco in 1860, when he married Caroline B. He served in the California state assembly from 1871 to 1873 and was superintendent of U.S. Government buildings in San Francisco from 1873 to 1878.
