Pauline Gibling Schindler (1893–1977) was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She was married to the architect Rudolph Michael Schindler (1887-1953) from 1919 - 1940. They had one son, Mark Schindler (1922-2012). Pauline Schindler was a writer, editor and political activist. She was an active supporter of her husband's work as well as other contemporary artists. Mark Schindler studied mathematics at Reed College and physics at the University of California. He worked as a physicist and consultant.
