Series VII.D. Restoration photographs documents the restoration of artworks by the main office of M. Knoedler & Co. in New York from 1933 to 1967. The photographs are identified by Plate number and often include a Receiving number for the artwork, which are written on the original envelope in a field titled "Ship. Number," whose numbering sequence corresponds to the Receiving records in Series V.A. Earlier plate numbers are preceded by the letter R, but Knoedler used this system inconsistently and later abandoned it.
Box 3161 is restricted until conservation treatment is complete.
