-
Born in San Francisco on March 26, 1874, Robert Frost was an esteemed American poet, born to journalist William Prescott Frost Jr. and Isabelle Moodie. His literary journey commenced with publication in England before finding its way to the United States. Renowned for his authentic portrayals of rural existence and his mastery of American vernacular, Frost's literary canvas often depicted the landscapes of early 20th-century New England, serving as a lens through which he explored intricate social and philosophical matters. Recognized with multiple accolades during his lifetime, Frost remains the sole poet to have secured four Pulitzer Prizes for Poetry. In 1960, he was granted the Congressional Gold Medal for his poetic contributions. Honored further, Frost was designated the poet laureate of Vermont on July 22, 1961. Tragically, he passed away in Boston on January 29, 1963, due to complications arising from prostate surgery.
