Abstract:
The movie press kits in this collection were distributed by Universal Pictures. A few of these press kits were addressed to Arenas Entertainment, a marketing agency that promotes entertainment products including film, television and brand launches to Spanish-speaking audiences in several countries including the United States, Mexico and Spain.

Background

Scope and content:

The materials in this collection were compiled from 1998-2009. This collection includes several copies of press kits for 62 different films. Some of the press kits in the collection are partly translated in Spanish.

A second accession of press kits and production materials was added by entertainment journalist, Patrick Lee, in 2017.

Series I: Press Kits Inclusive Dates: 1998-2009 Arrangement: Alphabetical

This series consists of press kits for films. Notable films include The Matrix: Reloaded, The Fast and the Furious, Elizabeth: The Golden Age, United 93, Serenity, Cinderella Man, and American Gangster. The series also contains press materials for Indiana Jones projects in the 2000s.

Series II: Screenplays and Production Materials Inclusive Dates: 2001-2009 Arrangement: Alphabetical

This series consists of screenplays and productions materials such as crew calls and shooting schedules for films and television series. Some notable items in the series are the screenplay for The Day After Tomorrow (2004) and scripts for episodes of several Star Trek series. Also included is a crew call for Red Sun which was later renamed Superman Returns (2006).

Series III: Oversized Press Materials Inclusive Dates: 2006-2007 Arrangement: Alphabetical

This series contains three folders of oversized press materials. One notable item in the series is a limited edition lithograph from the animated film Open Season (2006).

The first accession of the movie press kits in this collection were distributed by Universal Pictures. A few of these press kits were addressed to Arenas Entertainment, a marketing agency that promotes entertainment products including film, television and brand launches to Spanish-speaking audiences in several countries including the United States, Mexico and Spain.

The second accession of the movie press kits and production materials were donated by entertainment journalist, Patrick Lee, in 2017.

The collection is organized into three series: I. Movie Press Kits; II. Screenplays and Production Materials; and III. Oversized Materials.
