The collection consists of recorded sound, moving images, photographs, interviews, promotional material, organizational records, zines, correspondence, and other material relating to the San Francisco based Walking Dead record label and Deaf Club music venue dating 1977-2024.
- Biographical / historical:

The Deaf Club was a San Francisco punk music venue operating 1978-1980. It was located within the San Francisco Club for the Deaf, a community center for the Deaf and hard of hearing, at 530 Valencia Street in the Mission District. Notable California punk bands that performed at the Deaf Club included Avengers and Offs, as well as Dead Kennedys, Dickheads, The Germs, Mutants, Noh Mercy, Pink Section, Tuxedomoon, U.X.A., and X.
Walking Dead, Gammon, and Khomeini Records were independent San Francisco-based record labels; daphne hanrahan, who founded the labels, also founded and managed the Deaf Club at the San Francisco Club of the Deaf, assisted there by Peter Worrall and Johnnie Walker.
