Background

Scope and content:

This collection consists of printed materials related to travel and recreation within California and the greater U.S., including such items as maps, travel guides and menus, as well as ephemera, and home entertainment products of the 1930s-1980s. Also included are the La Dow Family papers which consist of legal documents. The connection between the Hall family and the La Dow documents isn't clear.

Biographical / historical:

A native of Los Angeles, Doris D. Hall (1912-2011) was born Doris Marie D'Ooge and grew up in Inglewood. Her mother Josephine D'Dooge (nÊe Wright) was from Massachusetts and her father was from Michigan. Doris married Harvey R. Hall (1905-1998) and they lived in the city of Los Angeles throughout their lives.
