Background

Scope and content:

Eighty-eight screen prints and posters by Dignidad Rebelde, a graphic arts collaboration between San Leandro-based artists Jesus Barraza and Melanie Cervantes. Their work utilizes design to amplify the stories of people of color. Following the principles of Xicanisma and Zapatismo and seeking to use their art as a platform for social justice, they produce works that are meant to go directly to the hands of the communities who inspired them.
