The George E. Stone Photographic Collection was originally a three-volume set entitled "Ivories, Sculptures and Paintings," and documents Italian artwork prior to World War II (c.1941). Stone visited museums in Florence, Italy, and photographed selected early religious artworks, particularly, renderings of "the Holy Mother", saints, angels, and Christ as an infant and the resurrection. This three volume set was presented in six portfolios but was rehoused in 2019 into three boxes. The collection includes a catalogue of his work and 95 photographs: black & white, 16x36 cm.-42 x 24 cm, mounted on 51x41 cm boards.
