This collection comprises correspondence, booklets, brochures, bulletins, clippings, directories, event fliers, newsletters, order forms, pharmaceutical lists, documents on AIDS alternative treatments, and other material, 1984-1991, from designer and AIDS activist Paul Angelo LoGiudice. Collection includes materials documenting AIDS activism in Toledo, Ohio, and Los Angeles, California, including documents related to the Nutritional Products Buyers' Club in West Hollywood. The collection also includes informational materials related to lobbying efforts during the 1987 National March on Washington for Lesbian and Gay Rights.

Biographical / historical:

Paul Angelo LoGiudice was born in 1958 in Toledo, Ohio. He was raised in Toledo, and attended St. Jude Catholic Grade School and Central Catholic High School.

LoGiudice had almost 30 years of experience in the kitchen housewares industry. He started his career in retail, working as a manager for a gourmet specialty shop, later becoming a housewares sales representative. In 1987, LoGiudice began working for the Commercial Aluminum Cookware Company, known today as Calphalon. He eventually became Director of Product Design in 1995. LoGiudice's influence over product design led to many inventions and 27 patents. In 1999 he was recognized for his successes and received the Newell Rubbermaid Award. LoGiudice was a pioneer and chairman of the Newell Rubbermaid employee resource group OPEN (Out and Proud for Equality at Newell Rubbermaid). As a result, one of the foundations that has been established in his name is with Youth Pride, Inc., an organization which provides critical services to create a safe haven for LGBTQ youth in Atlanta, Georgia.

LoGiudice was a volunteer and longtime supporter of the arts, and AIDS/HIV and LGBTQ causes. He was also an avid gardener.

Paul Angelo LoGiudice died on September 20, 2011.
