Contains affidavits for Chinese American merchants and their male relatives, mostly sons, petitioning to enter or re-enter the United States, dated between 1888 and 1915, and filed in the District Court of the United States for the Northern District of California. Affiants include: Tom Back, Tom Soon, Hom Shung, Tom Pak, Ham Toon Fong, Hom Yee Look, Hom Kwon Cheong, Hum Ne Hong, and Ham Toon Fong.
Collection also includes a passport for Tom Yum; an affidavit filed in Austin, Nevada; a letter to the creditors of F.T. Kuranaga (1906 April 26); an agreement between H. Yamachicka and M. H. Thomas (1906 November 10); and a newspaper clipping documenting a Chinatown raid led by Donaldina Cameron.
