The collection consists of photographs, negatives, correspondence, datebooks, poetry, and ephemera relating to Malkovsky's personal and professional activities. Photographs show her family, life in the United States, travel, and her work for the Tolstoy Foundation which served displaced persons camps and refugee centers in Europe in the 1950s. Photographs also document the U.S. arrival of Russian Ambassador Boris Bakhmeteff in 1917.

Kyra Malkovsky (Кира Мальковская; Kira Mal'kovskaia) (1894-1990) was a Russian immigrant to the United States and a social welfare worker for Russian refugees. She worked with the International Institute of New York City, the Children's Welfare Society, and the Tolstoy Foundation, representing the latter in Italy and Austria during the 1950s.
