Scope and content:

Two maps with pencil notations showing tracts of land owned by Mennonites in the Reedley-Dinuba area of Tulare County during their early years of settlement there. Maps were apparently prepared for Nachtigall's master's thesis on Mennonite settlement in California, which was completed in 1972.

Biographical / historical:

Gary Nachtigall was an instructor, administrator, and coach at Fresno Pacific University. He completed a master's degree in geography at California State University, Fresno, in 1972. His thesis was entitled "Mennonite migration and settlements of California."
