The N.A. (Nikos) Diaman papers contain materials related to a variety of organizations the novelist and artist was involved in. These include Persona Press; “Paragraph: A Quarterly of Gay Fiction”; Queer Blue Light Video; the San Francisco Gay Video Festival; the Antares Foundation; Hyacinthus: Gay Women and Men of Greek Ancestry; Mediterranean Gays and Lesbians; and Epicures Gay Gourmet Club. Diaman (1936-) was part of Jack Spicer’s circle in North Beach and Robert Duncan’s poetry workshop at the San Francisco Public Library. He was active in the Gay Liberation Front and Gay Revolution Party in the 1970s, wrote for “Zygote” magazine and “Come Out!,” co-founded Queer Blue Light, an independent video production group, and was Executive Director of the Anatares Foundation, which sponsored the San Francisco Gay Video Festival and published “Paragraph.” The collection includes administrative and financial records, flyers, proposals and correspondence. There is also a poster from Hyacinthus (in an oversize folder). Diaman was also known as Tony.
