Collection consists of scripts and production material related to various Smothers Brothers' television series. Includes material for The Smothers Brothers comedy hour (1967-69), The Summer brothers Smothers show (1969), The Smothers Brothers summer show (1970), and The Smothers Brothers show (1965-66 and 1974-75).
- Biographical / historical:

Tom and Dick Smothers started performing togther in the late 1950s; their CBS Smothers Brothers comedy hour (1967-69) was cancelled over issues of censorship, political satire in entertainment, and overall creative control between the Smothers and CBS; they sued CBS and won but did very little performing; stopped performing together (1972) and for the next five years performed separately and together in stage productions; in the early 1980s, they re-formed their comedy team and became spokesmen for Magnavox; did The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour 20th Reunion Show for CBS, 1988.
