Biographical / historical:

Henry Franklin Doss was a member of one of Sonoma County's pioneer families and was born on his family's poulty ranch in Two Rock on May 24, 1868. Doss was elected to the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors in 1914, serving as chair from 1916-1918; he was relected in 1918 and served until 1921. He also served as trustee for the Two Rock District School and was chief of the Two Rock Volunteer Fire Department. Doss continued to operate the ranch for many years with his first wife, Letitia Doss (July 1868-Sept. 30, 1938). After Letitia's death and his retirement, he moved to Santa Rosa with his second wife, Ethel Orr.Doss died in Sebastopol at age 88, on November 20, 1951.
