Content Notes: This collection primarily consists of photographs from World War I. These photos were taken by McGrew in the course of his work with the Air Service’s 5th Photographic Section. The collection also includes a history of that section written by McGrew.

John McGrew joined the Air Service’s 5th Photographic Section close to the outbreak of World War I. He traveled to Europe with the section and took aerial photographs of various locations during the war, including spots in France, Belgium, Luxembourg and Germany.
