Background

Scope and content:

This collection contains documents from the Second West Coast Conference of Old Lesbians, held August 4-6, 1989 at San Francisco State University. Records include programs and minutes of the planning committee, mass mailings, flyers, conference evaluations and a memo to future conference coordinators and planning committees. The conference spurred some women to form the ongoing organization, Lesbian Organizing Committee, which soon became Old Lesbians Organizing For Change (OLOC). OLOC is a national organization that educates and empowers American lesbians over the age of 60 to oppose ageism in their lives and their communities. The collection also includes AV material regarding Sally Binford. GSSO Linked Terms: http://purl.obolibrary.org/obo/GSSO_000381; http://purl.obolibrary.org/obo/NCIT_C16269
