Materials consist of photographs, campaign flyers and broadsides, campaign correspondence and other documents that provide background information for Padilla's campaign. One such document is a fifty page photostatic document regarding foreign communists and leftists in Mexico from government officials. The photographs are for the most part professional photos from the campaign trail, with a few small, more personal photos included.

Ezequiel Padilla PeƱaloza (1890-1971) was a Mexican statesman. Born in Coyuca de CatalƔn, Guerrero, he served in the Senate, as Attorney General in 1928, as Secretery of Education from 1928 to 1930, as ambassador to Hungary from 1930 to 1932, and as Secretary of Foreign Affairs from 1940 to 1945. He ran for president in 1946 but lost to Miguel AlemƔn ValdƩs. This collection may have been put together by a campaign manager as the photos are from the official photographer, Photo Leon of Mexico City.
