Dr. Cornelius Schnauber Collection consists of approximately 350 color mounted slides taken by Dr. Schnauber between 1969-1982, with emphasis on the latter date. Slides most depict architecture around Los Angeles including the communities of Beverly Hills, Century City, Downtown Los Angeles, Echo Park, Fairfax District, Hollywood, Lafayette Square Santa Monica, West Hollywood, West Los Angeles, Westwood, and Venice.

Dr. Cornelius Schnauber (April 18, 1939 - February 21, 2014) was a professor of German, USC (1967-2006), and Founder/Director of Max Kade Institute of Austrian- German-Swiss Studies (2714 Hoover St., Los Angeles 90089). Schnauber was born near Dresden, Germany. He received his doctorate at the University of Hamburg in 1968 having studied German literature, phonetics, and political science. He was also an instructor in the Phonetics Institute of the University from 1963 to 1968. The images in this collection were used for lectures Dr. Schnauber conducted in Germany.
