Biographical / historical:

Liang Ziying 梁子英, 1910-1987, was born in Shanxi Province, China. A graduate of the Department of Education at Peking University, he worked in the Central Bank of China and served as a counselor to Marshal Yan Xishan during the Second Sino-Japanese War. In 1941, Liang joined the Chinese Nationalist Party (KMT) and later became a private secretary to H. H. Kung, Vice Premier of China. Following the Chinese Communist takeover in 1949, Liang faced persecution, including trial in 1953 and subsequent purges during the Cultural Revolution. He was later pardoned and joined the Revolutionary Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang before his death in 1987.
