Scope and content:

Collection consists of a commemorative envelope from the Ford's Theatre in Washington D.C. belonging to Swedish actress Signe Hasso. The envelope was issued by the Lincoln Society of Philately with a special Ford's Theatre cancellation. Additionally a letter from Hasso to George Cukor about the donation to USC.

Originally part of the Ethel Barrymore Memorial Theatre Arts Collection at the University of Southern California Library 100 Series, and was labeled 100-26.

Biographical / historical:

Signe Hasso (1915-2002) was a Swedish actress, writer, and composer best known for the films Heaven Can Wait (1943), A Scandal in Paris (1946), and Dangerous Partners (1945).
