Scope and content:

The Committee on Arts and Lectures organized lectures and performances for the UCSF community from 1939-1972. Collection contains lecture transcripts, event programs, photographs and audiotapes. Includes materials contained in a scrapbook belonging to Salvatore Pablo Lucia, lecture transcripts of talks given by Barnaby Conrad, Alfred R. Sumner, and Chauncey D. Leake (to name a few), as well as photographs of various speakers such as photographer, Ansel Adams.

Biographical / historical:

The Committee on Arts and Lectures organized lectures and performances for the UCSF community from 1939-1972. Today, UCSF has Campus Life and Services with a branch, Arts and Events, dedicated to organizing cultural and social performances and events for the UCSF community.
