Reginaldo Francisco Del Valle (1854-1938) was the son of Ygnacio Del Valle (1808-1880) and Ysabel (Varela) Del Valle; Ygnacio Del Valle served as Alcalde of Los Angeles in 1850 and as a state assemblyman in 1852. Reginaldo grew up in Los Angeles and at the family home, Camulos Ranch, in Ventura County. He studied law, was elected to the state assembly (1879) and the state senate (1882), and was a vice president of the Board of Water and Power Commissioners of the City of Los Angeles from 1928 to 1929. Del Valle married Helen M. (White) Cayatile (-1920); the couple had one daughter, Lucretia, who married Henry Francis Grady.
