The Keye Luke papers span the years circa 1918-1987 and encompass 12.7 linear feet of manuscripts, 2.6 linear feet of photographs, 406 artworks, and 1 poster. The collection contains scripts, production material, personal files and memorabilia, scrapbooks, photographs, and many of Luke's own artworks. Artworks include layouts and celebrity portraits for film advertising and editorial, and illustrations for the books "The Unfinished Song of Achmed Mohammed," "Blessed Mother Goose," and the unpublished "Messer Marco Polo." Also represented are Luke's personal artworks as well as cartoons from his student days at Franklin High School in Seattle.

Keye Luke was a Chinese-born American film and television actor active from 1934 to 1990. He is best known for playing Lee Chan, the "Number One Son" in the "Charlie Chan" film series. Other notable roles include playing Kato in the "Green Hornet" film serials between 1939 and 1941, Master Po in the "Kung Fu" television series, and Mr. Wing in the film GREMLINS and its sequel, GREMLINS 2. He was one of the most prominent Asian actors in American film and television from the mid-1930s through 1980s.
