Scope and content:

Illustrated works of Mexican popular literature organized in four series: 1. Religious works. 2. Children's stories / Theater works. 3. Popular songs. 4. Miscellaneous. While the majority of the chapbook illustrations are by Posada, works by other anonymous illustrators are present.

The collection was purchased by the Bancroft Library.

Collection was processed shortly after purchase, and the inventory prepared for online publication in 2016.
