The Perc Westmore papers span the years 1925-1965 and encompass 7 linear feet. The manuscript material is a miscellaneous assortment that includes newspaper and magazine clippings, telegrams and congratulatory letters regarding Westmore's 1938 marriage to actress Gloria Dickson, a statement regarding Westmore Color Filtering, and notes regarding Paul Muni's makeup. The scrapbooks contain clippings on Perc Westmore, his brothers, and the House of Westmore and cover the years 1931-1950. The more than 150 disc recordings document Perc Westmore's radio appearances on "The Art Linkletter Show," "Art Linkletter's House Party," and various other programs from 1939 to 1957. Some recordings feature the work of other members of the Westmore family, such as "The Ern Westmore Show." The photograph series consists of 3,675 items. There are makeup, wardrobe, and hairstyle tests; as well as off-camera, publicity, research, makeup process, and makeup reference photographs.

Percival Harry Westmore was a makeup artist. Born in England, his family emigrated to Canada and then to the United States. By 1920 the Westmore family had settled in Los Angeles. From 1935 to 1965, Westmore owned and operated the House of Westmore beauty salon in Hollywood with four of his brothers.
