Issues of the Ebell from 1903 to 1927 were printed as small pamphlets called Bulletins. The October 1927 issue is the first iteration of the Ebell publication in a magazine format. Ebell Magazine ran from October 1927 to December 1934. In January 1935, the Ebell returned to the condensed bulletin format. In January 2007, the publication changed their name to Magazine of the Ebell of Los Angeles, and in October 2009, the name was shortened to Ebell Magazine. The bulletin format and content remained the same. Issues were published monthly except for July, August, and September. Starting in 1994, the publication included a Summer edition.
