Photographs were transferred to Pictorial Collection in 1978 and cataloged under call number (?) 6370-;6407(?).
The Papers of Dr. Bland were purchased by the Bancroft Library in January 1959 from Mrs. Gwendolen Penniman, his literary executor.
Dr. Bland, poet, professor of English at San Jose College, 1899 until his death, and poet laureate of California, 1928-1931.
The papers, covering the years, 1905-1931, consist primarily of correspondence with other poets and authors; manuscripts of
his poems, short stories and essays; notebooks; clippings and scrapbooks; photographs; and some printed items.
