Scope and Content
These documents, originals and contemporary copies, were purchased from Miss Barbara Jean Stewart
November 29, 1966. They relate mainly to land transactions in Baja California, and include petitions,
grants to Milatovich and others, deeds, receipts, some diseños and related material. Some
items pertain to the Gochicoa y Compañía, a colonizing venture in Baja California
near the Colorado River.
The material is arranged in groups according to the property involved, and then chronologically within
each group. Each folder is numbered, and a detailed scheme of arrangement follows. At the end of the
report is a partial Iist of authors or signers of documents.
