This collection contains letters, notes, cards, autographs, signed pieces of music, and poems collected or received by Rebecca
Godchaux from various individuals --most of whom were in the arts. The poor condition of the items is a result of their being
burned in a fire. An explanation of their restoration is contained in a forward to the collection by Josephine Godchaux (folder
1).
Originally these item were in a bound volume. The deteriorated condition of the volume made it necessary to remove the leaves
and place them in manuscript folders (keeping the same order as in the bound volume).
