This series consists of materials generated at the Mont Treblanc, Atlantic City and Hot Springs conferences of the Institute of Pacific Relations (IPR). Materials include published conference agendas, reports, summaries, and brief correspondence related to a Julius Rosenwald Foundation-IPR fellowship to study colonial systems of the Pacific that Bunche was offered but did not accept.

- Family requested that series 21, subseries 1: Personal Correspondence between Ralph J. Bunche and Ruth H. Bunche (boxes 476-480) were closed until the deaths of both Joan H. Bunche and Ralph Bunche Jr. As of April 2021, the family would like to review the materials in these boxes before lifting the restriction.
