This series contains film and audio recordings that feature Bunche, including interviews and speeches; career highlights; dedication ceremonies; and recordings made by Bunche during his SSRC postdoctoral fieldwork in Africa. It also contains video recordings of a press conference featuring the Bunche papers exhibit at UCLA in 1975, a UCLA Founder's Day tribute to Bunche, and a recording of Shirley Ellis.
Materials are arranged by format and then by date. Reader copies for most of the original recordings exist; please see staff regarding special arrangements for use of these materials.

- Family requested that series 21, subseries 1: Personal Correspondence between Ralph J. Bunche and Ruth H. Bunche (boxes 476-480) were closed until the deaths of both Joan H. Bunche and Ralph Bunche Jr. As of April 2021, the family would like to review the materials in these boxes before lifting the restriction.
