Two figures at the base of a giant sequoia tree in the Mariposa Grove. The woman is almost certainly Sallie Dutcher (Sarah L. Dutcher), sales agent and somtimes colorist for photographer Carleton Watkins. The man, with back to camera, may be Watkins himself.
