correct box since file folders do not indicate box number.
- Condition:
- Files are housed in original file folders with original labels; some labels are falling off as the glue dries up; metal paper
clips have been removed for the most part. Hollinger archival cartons are acid free. Space for additions to files has been
left.
- Recommendations:
- Files should be transferred to acid free folders. Further review and weeding of files for duplicate and extraneous documents
is possible. Headings on file folders do not indicate box number.
Scope and Content
The Music Library administrative files are particularly valuable for their indications on
sources of the Music Library holdings whether purchased as a collection, acquired through
a dealer or donated as a gift. Accessions lists document the development of the music
collection since ca. 1950.
Annual reports, budget requests, statistics and other correspondence provide some
historical documentation of the Library since 1947 to present.

acquisitions lists beginning with 1939, and data concerning various collections acquired
over the years. There is also extensive correspondence with dealers and other individuals
concerning Library holdings, surveys, statistics, and information concerning technical
processing, which provide some historical documentation of the Library since 1947 to the
present.
