Historical Note
This interdenominational committee was organized to respond to planning for the reconstruction
and relocation of churches in San Francisco after the April, 1906 earthquake. The resolution
passed by the committee states that the earthquake has "largely burned away denominational
barriers, enkindled mutual sympathy and fraternal interest, and signally emphasized our essential
unity in Christ."
