Creeley (Robert) papers, 1950-2005

Series 6: Academia

Identifier:
Archival Resource Key
Scope and content:

This series is a collection of papers documenting Creeley's long-time role as student, teacher, mentor, academic, and department head. This series contains lecture materials, class notes, notes for examinations, correspondence with students, student papers, course descriptions, and other materials related to Creeley's activities as an instructor, primarily at the State University of New York at Buffalo. The papers are divided roughly into two groups, representing Creeley's role as an academic and student papers.

In many instances, Creeley's former students maintained a correspondence with him, sending manuscripts and letters. These manuscripts are housed in Series 3: Manuscripts by others. Occasionally student papers written for courses taught by Creeley which do not clearly specify that they were written for a class are housed in Series 3.
