    Biography

    Cyrus T. Wheeler was born in New York in 1825. He came to California in 1850 and settled in Sacramento. In 1851, he and Newton Booth became partners in Booth & Co., importers and wholesale grocers. They remained partners until Wheelers'death in 1892. Wheeler was a prominent Sacramentan and was a private banker dealing with activities in the gold rush area in financing and speculation in mining.
