    Scope and Content

    The collection contains transcript of fol. 231-293, Manuscritos de Indias ..., additional manuscript 13974 at the British Museum, which are copies of letters from Fathers Crespi, Serra and Palou, chiefly to Father Juan Andres, Guardian, Colegio de San Fernando. It includes copy of letter from José Francisco de Ortega to Father Palou and copies of letters from Father Rafael Verger, Guardian, to the fiscal, Manuel Lanz de Casafonda.
    These transcripts, concerning missions in Alta and Baja California, were made at British Museum, 1910, by Robin Flower; corrections and additions by Henry Thomas, with explanatory letter to Henry Morse Stephens.
