Background
- Biographical / historical:

Adolphus Earhart Graupner was born in Iowa in 1875. He was graduated from the University of California in 1897 and began his law career in San Francisco the same year, ultimately becoming assistant district attorney and Superior Court judge. He was an active member of the American Legion and served as chairman of its rehabilitation committee, 12th district. Judge Graupner died in 1947. His wife, Annabel Elise (Wenzelburger) Graupner, was graduated from the University of California in 1902. She worked with numerous civic and charitable organizations including the California Alumni Association, California Civic League and the American Association for Study and Prevention of Infant Mortality. Both she and her husband were active in the Republican Party.
