Scope and Content Note

Numbered drawings placed first in numerical order, and unnumbered drawings thereafter.

The Board of Consulting Engineers was created in January, 1932, by the Department of Public Works to review proposed Bridge construction plans. It comprised a panel of private architects and engineers, and included C. H. Purcell, Chief Engineer, and Charles Andrews, Bridge Engineer.

Original pencil tracings and drawings of preliminary designs of bridge construction submitted to the Board of Consulting Engineers at their meetings between January, 1932, and April, 1933. Plans show details of pier, tower, deck, cantilever, anchor, tunnel, and span construction. The typical size of a drawing is 2 by 35.
