Scrapbook of letters, clippings, etc., chiefly from Charles Fish, his brother, Lafayette, and sisters, Caroline and Cornelia, to members of their family. Many relate to ranching in Contra Costa Co., and to bringing of large herds of sheep overland in the 1850's.
Journal, Jan. 17-Mar. 31, 1853, of Charles Fish's voyage to California via New Orleans and Nicaragua; to San Francisco on steamer, Independence, shipwrecked near Magdalena Bay, Lower California and rescue by whaler, Meteor.
