- This collection consists primarily of the correspondence of Dr. T. Perceval Gerson (born 1872), founder of the Hollywood Bowl and publisher of the Los Angeles municipal newspaper. The materials chiefly date from 1934 to 1937 and include correspondence from musicians, conductors, and lecturers on liberal causes. There are also newspaper clippings covering the San Francisco Graft Trial of 1907 and the William Dudley Haywood trial in Idaho in 1907.

T. Perceval Gerson (1872-1959?), founder of the Hollywood Bowl, was a physician, the publisher of the Los Angeles Municipal Newspaper, and patron for many community organizations. He was active in the Hollywood Bowl Association, the Theatre Arts Alliance of Hollywood, the National Committee for Planned Parenthood, and the American Civil Liberties Union.
