Description
Anne Edwards (1927- ) was a freelance film and television writer, and an author. Her published work includes The survivors (1968), Shadow of a Lion (1971), Haunted summer (1972), Judy Garland: a biography (1975), Vivien Leigh: a biography (1976), Sonya: the life of Countess Tolstoy (1981), Shirley Temple, American princess (1988), Early Reagan (1987), and The DeMilles, an American family (1988). The collection consists of Edwards' literary manuscripts, galleys, screenplays, research materials and notes, correspondence, interviews, videocassettes, tape transcriptions, photographs and negatives, publicity material, newspapers, magazines, and a poster.

Edwards was born August 20, 1927 in Portchester, New York; attended UCLA (1943-46) and Southern Methodist University (1947-48); was a child performer on the stage; junior writer, MGM, 1944; freelance film writer in Hollywood, 1950-54; freelance film and television writer in England and Europe, 1954-72; wrote many works of fiction and biography, including The survivors (1968), Shadow of a Lion (1971), Haunted summer (1972), Judy Garland: a biography (1975), Vivien Leigh: a biography (1976), Sonya: the life of Countess Tolstoy (1981), The Road to Tara: the life of Margaret Mitchell (1983), Matriarch: Queen Mary and the House of Windsor (1984), and A remarkable woman: a biography of Katharine Hepburn (1985), Shirley Temple, American princess (1988), Early Reagan (1987), The DeMilles, an American family (1988).
