Abstract: Adelbert Bartlett was a commercial photographer based in Santa Monica, California, and the director of the Near East Relief
Fund in Los Angeles. The collection contains photographs, negatives, periodicals, scrapbooks, and memorabilia relating to
Bartlett's life as a commercial photographer and to his involvement with the Near East Relief Fund.

Biography
Adelbert Bartlett was born in 1887; became a commercial photographer based in Santa Monica, California; his photographs of
the Southern California lifestyle were widely published in the U.S. and abroad; director, Near East Relief Fund regional headquarters
news bureau in Los Angeles; worked for the Fund in Greece, Palestine, and Syria; died in 1966.
Scope and Content
Collection contains photographs, negatives, periodicals, scrapbooks, and memorabilia relating to Bartlett's life as a commercial
photographer and to his involvement with the Near East Relief Fund.
