This artwork is done in papel picado, the traditional Mexican folk style of design where the artist carves images out of paper and lays it over another sheet of paper. The designs of this poster are cut out in a light tan colored paper, while the paper underneath is in a dark tan. The central cut out paper image is of the sun and its eight rays reach all corners of the paper. In each corner are paper cut out designs of deer and llamas. The top and bottom of the poster include paper cut outs of griffins.
