Tasheira, Anthony Lewis
Biography
Anthony Lewis Tasheira was born in New York City on January 30, 1822. He came to California by ship in 1849 and mined for
gold in the southern mines. In 1853, he went back to New York, returning to California with his family. He entered the banking
firm of Drexel, Sather & Church in San Francisco and was a member of the Vigilance Committee of 1856. He died in San Francisco
on April 13, 1860.
